Pilibhit Tiger Reserve Tourism Season Extended Till June 30

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve will extend its tourism season from November 1 to June 30, giving visitors nearly eight months to explore the reserve. Under the revised schedule, tourists will also have to pay higher entry fees on weekends. Authorities are working to upgrade safari routes, tourist facilities and Chuka Beach before the extended tourism season begins.

Tourists will now be able to visit Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) for almost eight months, with the tourism season running from November 1 to June 30, a senior forest official said on Sunday.

Chief Conservator of Forests, Bareilly, P P Singh said the tourism season was previously conducted generally from November 15 to June 15. During 2024-25, the season started on November 6.

As per the revised arrangement, entry fees at the reserve will be higher on Saturdays and Sundays compared with weekdays, Singh said.

After the government directed that the reserve be opened from November 1, preparations are underway to ensure that safari routes, tourist huts and other visitor facilities are ready before the new season starts, he said.

Tourist activity has begun increasing again in the Chuka area following the monsoon. Chuka Beach remains a popular attraction for visitors, while repair and beautification work is currently being carried out at its huts, restaurants and other facilities.

Singh, who also serves as the PTR field director, inspected Chuka Beach on Friday and instructed officials to complete all preparations within the scheduled time.

Officials said repair and improvement work is also underway on Chuka Beach and the safari routes.

Singh visited and reviewed the area together with Divisional Forest Officer Bharat Kumar.
